MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The 28th-ranked Wesleyan men's squash team edged out No. 31 Chatham University on the first day of the Wesleyan Round Robin Friday night, 5-4.
The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season and are now 1-2. They also handed Chatham its first loss of the year as the Cougars dropped to 8-1 overall.
"We knew we had to win one match in the top-five," said Head Coach Shona Kerr. "Today, Alex Dreyfus was that win to clinch the match."
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:
- Wesleyan won matches five through nine.
- Dreyfus won in four sets in the No. 5 spot, defeating Christopher Tejada by scores of 11-8, 11-2, 2-11, 13-11.
- Andrew Doucette, Scott Ji, Vabuk Pahari, Brinton Thomas all swept their matches in the No. 6 - No. 9 positions, respectively.

- Wesleyan wraps up the Round Robin tournament tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. as the Cardinals host Bates. They are also scheduled to play Hobart at 1 p.m. and Vassar at 5 p.m.
