BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The No. 33 ranked Wesleyan women's cross country team performed well at the women's college brown 6k at the 47
th annual Paul Short Run on Friday. The Cardinals finished in 15
th place out of 39 teams in a field that included six other nationally-ranked Div. III program. Wesleyan performed better than two of those six nationally-ranked teams in No. 1 Johns Hopkins (17
th place) and No. 20 RPI (20
th place).
Miranda Graves '23 was the fastest Cardinal for the third straight meet to open the season, crossing the line in a personal-best 6k time of 22:07.4 to claim 34
th place in a field of 342 competitors. Packed up well together once again with Graves was
Emma Trapani '21, P'22 who placed 43
rd overall with a 6k PR of 22:12.6. This is the third time in three meets that Graves and Trapani have been the top-two runners on the day for Wesleyan.
Adding depth behind the dynamic top Cardinal duo was
Maeve Hoffman '23 who was third-fastest on the day for Wesleyan with a 6k personal-best time of 23:10 to take 117
th place.
Maia Dawson '24 performed exceptionally well in her first Paul Short appearance, claiming 124
th place with a time of 23:13.9. Rounding out the scoring on the day for Wesleyan is
Sara Greene '23 who placed 136
th, crossing the line in 23:23.7.
