MIDDLETOWN, CT. – The Wesleyan women's field hockey team placed 12 student-athletes on the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad, as announced by the NFHCA last week. The Cardinals have 10+ recipients for the sixth straight year, dating back to the 2016 season.
Ava Galdenzi '24 was awarded the honor of NFHCA Scholar of Distinction, an award given to student-athletes who have achieved a grade point average of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year. This is the junior's second consecutive year winning this award, earning the honor during the 2021-22 academic year as well.

In order to achieve status on the National Academic Squad, the individual must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. The Cardinals who achieved this were:
