MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan wrestling team was defeated by Centenary by a score of 29-12 in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon from the Bacon Field House. The loss sees the Cardinals finish the dual match season with a 5-3 record while Centenary is now 10-10.
Centenary set the tone with an impressive display from Jack Thode at 125, who posted a 12-1 major decision win over
Chris Hong '27. Danny Haws followed that with a pin at 133 to make it 10-0 Centenary after two bouts.

The tide turned with the next three matches as
Hayden Myers '26 took down Joey Innamorato in a high-scoring 15-13 decision at 141 for the first Wesleyan win on the day.
Ike Guttentag '26 followed with a pin of Mason Johnson in the 149 match at 2:55 to move the Cardinals back to a one-point deficit.

Ronnie Christolin '28 made it three wins in three bouts as he landed a 10-3 decision win over Colin Neal at 157 to spot Wesleyan a 12-10 lead.

The match then took a final deciding turn as the Cyclones won the final five varsity bouts, including three straight by decisions, all of which were by three points or less.
Kellen Horst '26 was defeated by Hunter Cleaver at 165 by a score of 16-14,
Akiva Lind '26 suffered an 8-6 defeat to Reece Smith at 174, and
Roman Martinez '27 took a 4-1 loss at 184 to Alex Mercado as Centenary led 19-12 before closing out the match with a pin and major decision win.
