MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan wrestling team is well-represented on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) yearly academic awards list with the Cardinals earning a Team Scholar Award while four student-athletes are Scholar All-Americans.

Wesleyan posted the second-best team grade point average in all of NCAA Division III as the Cardinals' 3.846 GPA showcases the program's strong commitment to both academic and athletic excellence. The Cardinals' 3.846 GPA trails only Augsburg (3.86) while is quite higher than the third-highest team GPA in the nation (Washington & Lee – 3.786).

In addition, the Cardinals saw four student-athletes recognized as Scholar All-Americans, recognizing outstanding academic achievement compared with excellence on the mat. Representing Wesleyan on the list is
Hayden Myers '26 (Molecular Biology & Biochemistry major),
Ike Guttentag '26 (English),
Chris Hong '27 (Molecular Biology & Biochemistry), and
Warren Little '27 (Economics). A total of 473 student-athletes representing 105 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.
