MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Wesleyan University baseball players Marco Baratta '16 and Nick Miceli '17 were named to the All-New England Team, and the 2016 NEIBA Division III All-New England Team, as announced recently by the organizations. Baratta earned First Team laurels for both, while Miceli garnered Second Team honors.

Baratta, who was recently named the NESCAC Baseball Player of the Year, finished his senior season with a conference leading .434 batting average, while his 40 RBIs ranked second in the league. He also registered a .643 slugging percentage and a .526 on base percentage.

Miceli, who was named First Team All-NESCAC, saw time at six different positions this season for the Cardinals. The junior right-hander finished the year with a 6-1 record on the mound, and a conference-best five saves, while posting a 3.41 ERA. His 57 strikeouts were good enough for fourth overall in the NESCAC. At the plate, the junior hit .345 with 25 RBIs.

Wesleyan wrapped up the 2016 campaign with a 23-12 record and a 7-5 record in the NESCAC West, which earned them the top seed in the west for the fourth straight season. Wesleyan fell just short of defending their back-to-back NESCAC Championship titles.
