Thomas Recognized as NFHCA Scholar of Distinction, Field Hockey Places 20 on NFHCA National Academic Team

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Wesleyan's Addie Thomas of the field hockey team was recognized as a 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction, while the Cardinals placed 20 student-athletes on the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Wesleyan was also awarded the 2018 National Academic Team Award which recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 school year.

First-year Thomas earned her distinction for being a student-athlete who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher, while the prerequisite for the academic squad is that the individual must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 of higher throughout the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year. For the Cardinals, senior Meghan Jain earned the award for the fourth time in her career. The other student-athletes who made it on the team were Paris Cipollone, Liz Colannino, Rachel Curran, Kayla Di Sibio, Dani Dittmann, Nia Eddy-Pina, Caitlin Grant, Gabby Guzdek, Erica Horowitz, Grace Kohn, Abby Manning, Indigo Pellegrini de paur, Rachel Pomerantz, Alex Ramsden, Amy Schaap, Maddie Shea, Myla Stovall, Claire Taub and Thomas.
