  • Field Hockey Concludes Season at Connecticut College

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (5-10, 1-9) concluded the 2019 campaign falling 2-1 at Connecticut College (3-12, 1-9). Head coach Christine Kemp guided the Cardinals to its best season since 2013 in her first year at the helm of the program. Wesleyan was led by first-year Diana Schwarz who recorded a team-high six goals in her rookie performance. Goaltender Delaney Wood finished the season with the most saves in the NESCAC (114) while recording a .786 save percentage.
  • Field Hockey Drops Road Contest at Trinity

    HARTFORD, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team suffered a 6-1 loss on the road at Trinity on Saturday morning. The Cardinals fall to 5-9 overall and 1-8 in conference play, while the Bantams (7-7, 2-7) earn their second NESCAC victory of the year. Erica Horowitz tallied her eighth career goal during the contest.
  • Field Hockey Edged 3-2 by Hamilton

    CLINTON, N.Y. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (5-8, 1-7) scored twice in the second half, but it was not enough, as Hamilton (5-7, 3-6) hung on for the 3-2 victory. Today marked the ninth meeting all-time between the two teams, as the Continentals now hold a 5-4 edge in the series.
  • Wesleyan Suffers 1-0 Loss to No. 19 Babson

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (5-7) suffered a 1-0 loss to No. 19 Babson (11-3) on Sunday afternoon. Before the game, the Cardinals honored their seven seniors – Rachel Curran, Kayla Di Sibio, Erica Horowitz, Abby Manning, Rachel Pomerantz, Maddie Shea, and Delaney Wood.

    AMHERST, Mass. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (5-5, 1-5) saw its come back attempt fall short on Saturday afternoon, as Amherst (6-4, 2-4) scored late in the fourth to edge the Cardinals 2-1.

    Olivia Baglieri scored the game-winner in the third quarter and Delaney Wood saved 17 shots in a shutout performance as the Wesleyan field hockey team upset No. 5 Tufts on Smith Field Tuesday night, 1-0.

    BRISTOL, R.I. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (4-4) picked up a 1-0 road victory at Roger Williams (6-3) on Thursday. The Cardinals have not lost to the Hawks, as they now hold a 6-0 advantage in the series.
  • Field Hockey Loses Heartbreaker in Overtime to No. 20 Colby, 1-0

    The Wesleyan University field hockey team lost a heartbreaker on Sunday afternoon as Georgia Cassidy scored the game-winner in the opening minutes of overtime to lead No. 20 Colby past the Cardinals, 1-0.
  • Wesleyan Suffers 3-1 Loss at No. 7 Bowdoin

    BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Wesleyan field hockey team (3-3, 0-3) suffered a 3-1 loss at No. 7 Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals struck first in the 44th all-time meeting between the two teams, but the Polar Bears (5-1, 3-1) scored three unanswered goals to earn the victory.   
  • Strong Second Half Propels Wesleyan Past Mount Holyoke, 5-2

    Nikki Gerjarusak scored once and assisted on two goals to help lead the Wesleyan field hockey team to a 5-2 victory over Mount Holyoke College Tuesday night on the road.
  • Field Hockey Drops Tight Contest Against No. 16 Williams

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (2-2, 0-2) fell 3-1 in a tight contest against No. 16 Williams (1-1, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon. First-year Diana Schwarz scored the lone Cardinal goal with 16 seconds remaining in the game for her third tally of the season.
  • Field Hockey Shuts Out Wheaton, 3-0

    The Wesleyan University field hockey team posted its second shutout of the season as it defeated Wheaton College in non-conference action on Smith Field Tuesday night, 3-0. Olivia Baglieri, Nikki Gerjarusak, and Amy Schaap each scored for the Cardinals while its defense held the Lyons to two shots on goal.
  • Field Hockey Falls to No. 1 Middlebury

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team (1-1, 0-1) fell to No. 1 Middlebury 7-0 in its NESCAC opener on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Cardinals held the defending National Champions (2-0, 1-0) scoreless in the first quarter with strong defensive play, as Delaney Wood recorded eight saves and Olivia Baglieri made a crucial defensive save.
  • Cardinals Top Warriors 4-0 in Season Opener

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team opened its 2019 campaign with a 4-0 victory over Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday evening. Amy Schaap and Diana Schwarz each scored a pair of goals, while the Cardinals held a 34-1 advantage in shots over the Warriors. 
  • Christine Kemp to Take Over Wesleyan Field Hockey Program

    Wesleyan University Athletics Director Mike Whalen ’83 announced today that Christine Kemp has been selected as the fourth head coach of the Wesleyan field hockey program.
