NESCAC WEEKLY RELEASE

HADLEY, Mass. – Senior guard BJ Davis of the Wesleyan University men's basketball team was named the NESCAC Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.

Davis played a significant role in the Cardinals' 3-0 week, which included a non-conference win over then-No. 9 Amherst (71-44), and NESCAC victories against No. 19 Tufts (78-77, OT) and Bates (82-67). The senior from Hamden, Conn. averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as Wesleyan improved to 15-4 overall and 3-3 in league play.

Following an impressive 27-point victory over Little Three rival Amherst, Davis posted a double-double against nationally-ranked Tufts in a critical conference matchup. He scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, while also hitting two clutch free throws. With the Cardinals down by two and only :03 remaining in regulation, Davis went to the line and hit both shots to send the game into overtime. The next day, the senior went 7-of-10 from downtown to finish with 22 points as Wesleyan cruised to a 15-point win over the Bobcats.

The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, Jan. 30 and will host Conn. College at 3 p.m.
