MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – On Saturday, Jan. 30th, the 25th-ranked Wesleyan University men's basketball team will host a Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising game at 3 p.m. against NESCAC foe Connecticut College.
Coaches vs. Cancer is an initiative of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to raise awareness and money for cancer research at high schools and colleges across the country. Since 1993, high school and college coaches have raised more than $85 million to support the American Cancer Society.
Members of the Relay for Life committee will be present during Saturday's game, and will collect donations from anyone who is interested in contributing to the great cause. All proceeds will go towards the Wesleyan Relay for Life, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 16.
During Saturday's game, the Wesleyan coaching staff will wear sneakers on the sidelines to help raise awareness for cancer research.
