Wesleyan Golf Opens 2017-18 Campaign at Bill Detrick Invitational

NEWINGTON, Conn. – The Wesleyan University golf team opened its 2017-18 season this past weekend at the two-day Bill Detrick Invitational hosted by Trinity College at the Indian Hill Country Club. The Cardinals, led by senior captain Zach Lambros, finished 11th out of 11 teams with an 860 (408-452).


  • Lambros carded a two-day 156 (78-78) to finish 18th overall – a significant improvement from his 48th-place finish last year.
  • Andrew Rachlin '18 finished tied for 51st, shooting an 81 on day one followed by an 89 on day two.
  • Trinity's "A", "B", and "C" teams swept the top three positions, as Will Rosenfield, Taylor Kay-Green, and Alex Ensign tied for first with a two-day score of 148. Amherst's Jeffery Herr was also tied for the top spot with a 148.

  • The Cardinals will travel to Vermont for the Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College on Sept. 16-17.
