HADLEY, Mass. – Taylor Ghesquiere '18 of the 20th-ranked Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team was named the NESCAC Player of the Week, as well as the USILA/Lids Division III North Offensive Player of the Week, following his impressive performance in two games for the Cardinals.

Ghesquiere helped guide Wesleyan to a 2-0 week with wins over NESCAC rivals Trinity, 15-12, and then-No. 8 Bowdoin, 12-11 in overtime. The Cardinals improved their record to 9-3 overall and 5-3 in conference play as they jumped into the national rankings for the first time this season – No. 20 in the USILA Coaches Poll, and No. 19 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Top 20 poll.

The sophomore midfielder from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. finished the week with 10 goals and two assists for a total of 12 points. He scored five goals and dished out one assist in the win over the Bantams, and followed up with identical numbers in the thrilling win on Senior Day against the Polar Bears. Ghesquiere was the first Cardinal to earn either weekly honor this season.

Wesleyan has three losses this year – all by one in overtime against nationally-ranked NESCAC opponents. The Cardinals will resume action Saturday, April 23 and will face No. 3 Tufts on the road beginning at 1 p.m.
