MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – In attempt to avoid the thick of the rainstorm on Tuesday, the Wesleyan University men's soccer game against Vassar will be played at Smith Field, starting at 7:15 p.m. in Middletown, Conn.
The matchup was originally scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Jackson Field, but the forecast is predicting heavy rainfall for the area throughout the afternoon hours.
The Cardinals (3-1-0, 0-1-0 in NESCAC) will look to bounce back from a 1-0 setback at Bowdoin on Saturday. Wesleyan has its sights set on a 3-0 start at home, as the squad defeated Swarthmore on Sept. 9 and Manhattanville on Sept. 13 by scores of 2-1.
The Cardinals are 4-1 all time against the Brewers (3-2-1), but Vassar was victorious, 3-0, in the last meeting during the 2005 season. Wesleyan's last win in the rivalry was a 2-0 triumph during the 2004 season, which put a stamp on the Cardinals' four-game unbeaten streak against Vassar.
