The Cardinals enter the championship having faced a tough schedule which featured many close meets and included a win against Division 1 Fairfield University. Wesleyan finished eighth in last year's event with 484 points.

Leading the way in the swimming events for the Cardinals will be Ali Pourmaleki '18, who finished third in the 200-yard butterfly and was part of the 400-yard relay team which set a new school record with their time of 3:30.13 in last year's championship. Ethan Chupp '18 will be key for Wesleyan in the diving events, as he will look to follow-up Brandon Pearson's performance at last year's championships as Pearson finished third in both the one and three-meter events, and set school records with his scores of 501.75 (1-meter) and 545.00 (3-meters).
