KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Noah Lilienthal of the Wesleyan men's tennis team was named the ITA Division III Rookie of the Year, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Thursday. The institution announced regional awards last week, before honoring its national award winners at the NCAA Division III Individual Championship banquet on Thursday evening.
Lilienthal earned his honor following a stellar first season with the Cardinals. He has played much of his time at #4 singles, recording a 14-3 overall mark this spring. Additionally, he has paired up with Adrian Roji at #1 doubles, as the duo is ranked No. 1 in the Northeast, boasting an impressive 17-3 record. The tandem earned All-NESCAC First Team Doubles laurels and were selected to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships which will begin on Friday. Lilienthal was also tabbed the NESCAC Rookie of the Year award and was the first Wesleyan player to garner the award.
