Men’s Track & Field Compiles Three First-Place Performances at Wesleyan Spring Classic

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan University men's track & field team recorded 11 top-10 finishes on Saturday at the Wesleyan Spring Classic in Middletown, Conn.

Freshman Kevin DeLoughry placed first overall in the 400m, clocking a time of 50.96, while freshman Kyron Roberts (2:02.09) and junior Andrew McCracken (4.35) placed first overall during the 800m and pole vault, respectively.

DeLoughry, who hails from Westwood, N.J., also chipped in with a runner-up effort in the 200m, crossing the finish line in a time of 23.61. Junior George Avrassoglou cracked the top-three in the 800m with a time of 2:04.52, which cleared fourth place by 6.77 seconds.

Sophomore Pau Rius Valor was the fourth-place performer in the pole vault (3.35), and junior Olaniyi Adebayo finished fifth in the weight throw (12.05) and seventh in the shot put (11.43).

Senior Drew Trotman was Wesleyan's top-finisher in the 100m, as he placed seventh overall with a time of 12.14. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native then took his talents to the 200m, and compiled a 10th-place effort with a time of 24.47.

Sophomore Jack Northrop was the Cardinals' first-place performer in the long jump with a mark of 5.67, which was good for seventh overall.
