MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Junior catcher Rielly Wieners of the Wesleyan University softball team was named a Second Team All-NESCAC selection, as voted on by the league's coaches and announced by the conference office today.
This is the second appearance on the all-conference team for the West Springfield, Mass. native, who earned second team laurels a year ago.
This season, Wieners started every game behind the plate for the Cardinals, making just one error for a .994 fielding percentage. She also led the team in almost every offensive category; batting average (.351), RBI (22), home runs (5) and slugging percentage (.577), all of which were career-highs.
