Wesleyan University women's crew had an excellent fall campaign last year, which set the tone for another successful spring, in which the program reached the NCAA Championships for the third straight year. Last fall, the Cardinals opened the season by winning the Open 8 at the Head of the Riverfront, followed by a second place finish at the Head of the Charles, and closing out the 2017 season with a first place showing at the Head of the Fish.
The team will compete in the same schedule as last fall, starting with the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday, September 29th.
Wesleyan will once again be guided by Head Coach Pat Tynan, who enters his tenth season at the helm of the program. He is excited to welcome assistant coach Rebecca Veninsky to the program this year.
MEET THE TEAM
- The Cardinals welcome back senior co-captains Rachelle Flowers and Emma Porrazzo. Flowers will look to build off an impressive junior campaign in which she was named a 2018 CRCA All-American.
- Wesleyan also returns key coxswains Nicole Rizzuto '20 and Nikki Pallat '21 from last season.
- Tynan is excited to welcome five newcomers to the squad this year -- Francesca Myhrvold, Olivia Osborn, Eva Phelps, Josephine Roudebush, and Mackenzie Wiley.
"We want to continue to develop the team this fall, challenge each other and go fast. What we're aiming to do each year remains the same: meet or exceed our own standards each day and see where that can take us."
