WORCESTER, Mass. - No. 5 Wesleyan women's crew finished fourth in the Varsity 8 at the 2019 New England Rowing Championships Saturday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. with a time of 6:59.728.
In the team point standings, Wesleyan placed sixth with 55.52 points. Bates finished first with 93.00 and Wellesley took second with 80.25.
- In the Second Varsity 8, after winning their heat in the morning competition, Wesleyan finished fifth overall with a mark of 7:25.083. The Cardinals placed ahead of Wellesley who crossed the finish line in 7:26.753.
- The Cardinals won the petite final in the 3V8 with a time of 7:41.815, cruising past second-place finisher Colby who placed in 7:51.368.
- Wesleyan is back in the water next Sunday, May 12 as they return to Worcester, Mass. to compete in the National Invitational Rowing Championships.
