Rebecca Veninsky returns to the Wesleyan Women’s Crew program for a second season in 2019-20. A 2017 graduate of Ithaca College, Veninsky received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Documentary Film Studies and Production.
An upstate New York native, Veninsky developed a passion for rowing at a young age, following in her family’s footsteps. She went on to compete as a sweep rower and sculler at Ithaca College. During her senior year, she placed second at the Head of the Charles Regatta and fourth at the NCAA DIII Rowing Championships, both in the collegiate varsity 8+.
At the annual end of season banquet for the Ithaca College Crew Team, Veninsky received the Women’s Achievement Award. She continued competing after college and placed second in the women’s doubles at the Independence Day Regatta in Philadelphia.
Veninsky began coaching in the fall of 2017, when she started her appointment at Cascadilla Boat Club in Ithaca, N.Y. Through this program, she coached the varsity high school team, as well as instructed various age groups in the ‘learn to row’ program. Additionally, Veninsky served as an Assistant Coordinator for the Athletic and Wellness Department at the Ithaca City School District, where she facilitated scheduling, department meetings, and a youth leadership initiative.
