The Wesleyan women’s golf team competed at the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, in conjunction with the Williams Fall Classic, at the Taconic Golf Club this weekend. Williams secured first place with a score of 619, followed by Amherst (624) and Middlebury (635).
Saadia Naeem and Meg Wiley of the Wesleyan women’s golf team traveled to The Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vt. this weekend for the George Phinney Classic. Middlebury, the host school, won the tournament while Amherst placed second and Williams finished third.
The Wesleyan women’s golf team opened its inaugural season this weekend at the Mount Holyoke Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club and finished 12th overall in the 17-team field.
Wesleyan University has announced the addition of women’s golf to its list of varsity sports beginning in the fall of 2019. Women’s golf will become the 30th varsity sport and the 15th for women at Wesleyan while becoming the eighth school in the NESCAC to sponsor the sport. Jon Wilson, a PGA professional at Lyman Orchards, has been named the head coach of the program.
