MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Prior to its 'Pink in the Rink' game against Bowdoin College on Saturday, January 28th, the Wesleyan University women's ice hockey team hosted its first alumni game since 2011.
Twenty-two alumni from the classes of 2011-16 returned to campus to play in the game, which saw Team Black come away with the 'Cardinal Cup', defeating Team Red in a shootout.
"It was wonderful to see our alumnae players back on the ice at Spurrier-Snyder," said Head Coach Jodi McKenna. "We only get four years with them. Anytime we get to see our grads, it brings back good memories of key roles they played as members of the program.
"I really appreciate everyone taking the time to come back, and then staying to support the team in the afternoon against Bowdoin."
Wesleyan returns to the ice Friday, Feb. 3 and will host Middlebury at 7 p.m.
