MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Wesleyan’s Allegra Grant of the women’s ice hockey team adds another accolade to her list of postseason honors as she was named a New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) Division III All-Star. NEHWA will recognize Grant and the other award winners when it hosts its annual dinner on April 17th.

The Cardinals will be the eighth-seed in the upcoming NESCAC tournament and will head to No. 9 Williams, the top-seed, on Saturday for a quarterfinal contest at 3:00 p.m.

The game was dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness in honor of senior Jackie Kilar’s late mother Joan B. Kilar. Joan was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer and tragically lost her battle in 2014. Her courageous response, strength to meet new challenges and desire to go on with life, left a lasting impression on the entire Kilar family and the Wesleyan women’s hockey team.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wesleyan women’s hockey team (2-1-0) fell to Manhattanville College 2-1 in the Codfish Bowl Championship game hosted by UMass-Boston on Sunday. The Cardinals advanced to the title game after defeating the hosts 2-1, while the Spartans’ (5-0-1) shutout Bowdoin 4-0 to move on to Sunday’s championship. In the consolation contest, UMass-Boston triumphed 2-0 over Bowdoin.
