HADLEY, Mass. – Following an impressive week in which she helped No. 7 Wesleyan go 2-0, including a win in the NESCAC Quarterfinals, senior midfielder Abigail Horst was named the NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week as announced by the league office.

Horst totaled 10 points on nine goals and one assist, while also adding nine draw controls, four caused turnovers, and four ground balls. Additionally, she notched her 100th career point early in the week in a 14-9 win over Connecticut College and just three days later, she became the fifth player in program history to score 100 career goals as the Cardinals defeated Colby, 14-12.
The Pomfret, Conn. native was excellent in Wesleyan's victory over the Camels as she totaled seven points on six goals and one assist. She also recorded five draw controls, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls. With the win, Wesleyan set program records in overall wins (13) and NESCAC victories (8).
Earning the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, matching its highest seeding ever, the Cardinals hosted sixth-seeded and nationally ranked No. 14 Colby and prevailed for their first NESCAC postseason win in program history. Horst finished with three goals, four draw controls, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls.
Horst, a 2018 All-American and All-NESCAC First Team selection, is currently ranked 12th on Wesleyan's all-time scoring list with 108 career points. On Saturday, May 4, Horst and the Cardinals (14-2) will look to advance to the NESCAC Finals for the first time ever as they take on the second seed and No. 5 Tufts (15-1) at 3 p.m. on the campus of top-seeded Middlebury.
