Rachel Hickey
Title: Assistant Coach
Rachel Welch Hickey enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Wesleyan women's lacrosse team in 2017.

Hickey is a 2013 graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey where she earned a degree in Communications. A four-year member of the Scarlet Knights women's lacrosse program, Hickey was a three-time Big-East All-Academic selection as well as being a three-year member of the IWLCA All-Academic Squad.

While at Rutgers, Hickey helped organize the team's fundraising efforts on behalf of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. The foundation raises awareness and support for children suffering with pediatric brain tumors. She was also a member of the Scarlet Knight's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a representative/contributor to the Big East SAAC Blog in 2012. Hickey volunteered for several activities, including Read Across America, Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen, and Habitat for Humanity.

After graduation, Hickey joined the King's College Women's Lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant, and held that position for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

During her time at King’s College, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the team improved tremendously on the field. The Monarchs saw a boost in their conference win/loss record and earned a playoff berth in 2015. Hickey coached five all-conference players in her two years. In 2015, two freshman earned first team all-conference awards - they were the only freshman to get all conference honors in the MAC Freedom Conference. One of the freshman was also named the MAC Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year.

Hickey is a native of Medford, N.J. and is a graduate of Shawnee High School, earning All-South Jersey honors while twice being named All-Burlington County.
