The Wesleyan Women's Swimming and Diving team took on Amherst Monday night. The Highlight of the evening for Wesleyan was Carly Feinman winning in the 3-meter diving event (167.77).
Coach Solomon felt that certain individuals had break through performance based on their improvements even from 2 days ago when Wesleyan competed against Bates College.
Bella Wierner did all best times this season in the 50 & 100 back (1:04.53) which is more than a full second faster than what she was able to do at Bates, and 2 seconds faster than she had done two weeks prior.
Maela Whitcomb showed her versatility in the 500 free this evening to place 3rd with an excellent time of 5:23.75. Maela's 50 fly split in the 200 Medley Relay (26.87) is extremely impressive, and her 100 fly time (1:01.24) was a lifetime best time. Teammate, Charlotte Pitts was close behind in her best 100 fly of the season (1:01.98).
Eliza Carter continues to drop time in her sprint free events. Her 26.49 in the 50 free is more than a 1/2 second drop and is only 6 tenths of a second slower than what she did at last year's NESCAC Championships.
The Cardinals will take a break and regroup after the Thanksgiving Holiday as they prepare for their final two competitions of the Fall Semester on Dec. 5th (CT Cup) and Dec. 11th vs. Tufts and WPI. Both meets are at home.
