MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The eighth-ranked Wesleyan University women's tennis team opened its 2016 NESCAC conference schedule Saturday, and was defeated by No. 7 Middlebury on the road, 7-2.

SINGLES RESULTS
- The Cardinals picked up a victory in No. 1 singles as Eudice Chong '18 defeated Ria Gerger by scores of 7-5, 6-2.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- Wesleyan lost doubles play, 2-1.
- Chong and Aashli Budhiraja '18 defeated Gerger and Kaysee Orozco in No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- After an impressive west coast trip, the Cardinals jumped nine spots in the national rankings to land within the top-10.
UP NEXT
- Wesleyan returns to the court Saturday, April 2 and will play at Connecticut College beginning at 10 a.m.
- The Panthers are back in action Saturday, March 25 as play at Babson College at 5 p.m.
