MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan University men's and women's tennis teams were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently, as both programs received All-Academic Team laurels and a total of 12 Cardinals were named Scholar Athletes.
On the men's side, Zach Brint '16, Steven Chen '18, Michael King '16, Jake Roberts '17 and Sam Rudovsky '16 were named scholar athletes, while Dasha Dubinsky '18, Maddie James '16, Helen Klass-Warch '18, Ella Lindholm-Uzzi '17, Nicole McCann '18 and Victoria Yu '19 represented the women's team.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letter winner, 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
Additionally, both the men's and women's teams received the ITA All-Academic Team award which is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.0 scale).
