HADLEY, Mass. - Six members of the Wesleyan University women's outdoor track and field team were named to the 2016 All-NESCAC team, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
The top three finishers in each event during the NESCAC Championship receive all-conference recognition. The Cardinals placed seventh overall in the championship meet, which was hosted by Amherst College Saturday
Wesleyan's 4x400 meter relay team comprised of Jenny Aguiar '19, Alex Dibrindisi '19, Hannah Goodman '16 and Ananya Subrahmanian '19 placed third overall with a time of 3:59.69 en route to All-NESCAC honors. They were narrowly edged by Colby (3:59.05) and Middlebury (3:58.63).
Molly Schassberger '17 grabbed her first all-conference honor of her career after claiming third overall in the 10,000 meter run, as she crossed the finish line in 37:12.74.
In her final NESCAC Championship of her career, senior Kiley Kennedy earned all-conference accolades after placing second overall in the pole vault with a mark of 3.35 meters.
Wesleyan returns to the track this weekend for the two-day New England Division III Championships, hosted by Springfield College beginning Friday, May 6.
