MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan University men's and women's track & field teams have received 2015-16 All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while Will Dudek '17 and Molly Schassberger '17 garnered All-Academic Individual praise.
In order to earn team honors, a program must have at least a 3.10 cumulative team GPA. In all, 112 men's teams and 175 women's teams were honored by the USTFCCCA for success in the classroom and in competition.
The women earned praise for the sixth year in a row, as they compiled a 3.58 cumulative grade-point average, while the men were named an All-Academic Team for the fifth straight year with a GPA of 3.24 on a 4.0 scale.
To qualify for individual honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.3 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- Competed in a NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
- Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
