CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Jenny Aguiar of the Wesleyan University women's track & field team tallied a time of 57.61 in the 400-meter dash during the Last Chance Meet on Thursday at MIT in Cambridge, Mass.
Aguiar, who hails from Port Washington, N.Y., only finished 0.40 seconds behind the first-place finisher in Morgan Hallow of Trinity. Junior Julia Mitchell also competed in the meet for the Cardinals, as she placed seventh overall in the 1,500m, clocking a time of 4:42.13. The Bellevue, Wash. native improved by 0.45 seconds from her time in the event during the New England Division III Outdoor Championship on May 3-5.
Aguiar has been outstanding in the 400m, grabbing third-place accolades at the New England Outdoor Championship at MIT, and a fourth-place nod at the NESCAC Championship on April 28 at Trinity in Hartford, Conn. She also claimed 10th-place honors during the 400m at the Open New England Championship on May 11-12 at Dartmouth against a highly-talented field of runners.
