Six Cardinals Head to Boston For the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Six members of the Wesleyan men's and women's track and field programs qualified for the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championship, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening. The top-20 times in each event were accepted for competition, as events get underway on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.

On the women's side, Ivie Uzamere will make her second appearance at the Championship meet and is seeded second in the weight throw with a mark of 18.85. Jenny Aguiar is seeded sixth in the 400 with a time of 56.35, while Katie Maehl will compete in the pentathlon and is seeded 16th overall. The distance duo Rhoen Fiutak and Julia Mitchell will compete in the mile and 3,000, respectively. Fiutak is seeded 12th with a time of 5:00.54 (mile), while Mitchell is 18th with a time of 10:08.09 (3,000).

Andrew McCracken will be the lone-male competitor for Wesleyan and will compete in the pole vault. McCracken is seeded 18th with a mark of 4.77m.
