Aguiar & Uzamere Record First-Place Finishes at Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Wesleyan women's track and field team placed 11th out of 20 teams at the Tufts Snowflake Classic and were led by first-place finishes from Jenny Aguiar and Ivie Uzamere.


  • Uzamere won the hammer throw in a field of 34 athletes with a personal best mark of 47.59m.
  • In the 400m, Aguiar crossed the finish line in first, clocking in at 57.48.
  • Tara Peng tied for third place in the pole vault with a height of 2.80m.
  • Katie Maehl had a well-rounded performance, placing in the top-10 in four events. She earned sixth in the high jump (1.55m), and seventh in the long jump (5.05m), javelin (36.06m) and the shot (10.61m).
  • In the 200m, Caelan Campbell and Allegra Fils-Aime came in ninth and 11th, respectively, with times of 27.25 and 27.37.
  • Sophie Scobell recorded a personal best time in the 800m, clocking in at 2:27.70.


  • The Cardinals will head to the Amherst Spring Fling on Saturday.
