  • Three Cardinals Earn AVCA All-Region Honors

    Three members of the No. 25 Wesleyan volleyball team were named to the 2019 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-Region Teams, as announced recently by the AVCA. Senior middle blocker Nicole Hilton and junior libero Phia Bellizzi were named to the Northeast Region while senior setter Kaira Muraoka-Robertson was recognized as an Honorable Mention.
  • Volleyball Loses Heartbreaker to Ithaca in NCAA Championship, 3-2

    The 25th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team dropped a thrilling five-set match to Ithaca in the second round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday. The Cardinals lost by scores of 25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 25-18, and 15-9. At the conclusion of the regional, Kaira Muraoka-Robertson was named one of seven athletes to the Potsdam Regional All-Tournament Team.
  • No. 25 Wesleyan Advances, Defeats St. John Fisher 3-0 in First Round of NCAA Championship

    The 25th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team defeated St. John Fisher in three sets on Friday afternoon in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship. The Cardinals, seeded No. 3 in the Potsdam region hosted by Clarkson, won by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-20.
  • Four Cardinals Earn All-NESCAC Honors; Bellizzi and Ahearn Garner Yearly Awards

    Junior libero Phia Bellizzi was named the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and first-year outside hitter Bella Ahearn earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year as the 25th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team was well represented on the all-conference teams, which were announced today and voted on by the league’s coaches. Bellizzi was joined on the First Team by Nicole Hilton, while Kaira Muraoka-Robertson earned Second Team praise.
  • Volleyball Returns to NCAA Tournament for Third Straight Season

    The 24th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team is returning to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championships for a third consecutive season as the Cardinals (20-4) earned an at-large bid to the tournament today. Wesleyan will play St. John Fisher (23-10) in the First Round this Friday, November 15 at regional host Clarkson.
  • Wesleyan Drops Five-Set Thriller to Bowdoin in NESCAC Semifinals

    The second-seeded Wesleyan volleyball team lost a hard-fought five-set thriller to Bowdoin in the NESCAC Semifinals on Saturday. The third-seeded Polar Bears rallied from a 2-1 deficit and won by scores of 25-17, 19-25, 26-28, 25-22, and 16-14
  • Volleyball Advances to NESCAC Semifinals, Sweeps Bates

    For the third-straight season, the Wesleyan volleyball team has advanced to the NESCAC Semifinals as the second-seeded Cardinals swept the No. 7 seed, Bates, by scores of 25-8, 25-17, and 25-22 on Friday night at the host school, Tufts.
  • Volleyball Earns No. 2 Seed at NESCAC Tournament

    For the third consecutive season, the Wesleyan volleyball team (19-3, 9-1 NESCAC) secured the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC Tournament and will play seventh-seeded Bates (16-9, 4-6 NESCAC) in a rematch of last year’s quarterfinals. The match is scheduled for Friday, November 8 at 5 p.m. Tufts earned the top seed and will host the three-day tournament with the championship scheduled for Sunday, November 10 at 12 p.m.
  • Volleyball Falls in Five Sets to Ithaca

    The 20th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team lost to Ithaca in five-sets on Saturday afternoon in the team’s regular-season finale. The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead in the match with wins of 25-21 and 25-22, but the Bombers responded with three-straight victories of 25-23, 25-18, and 15-10.
  • No. 19 Wesleyan Volleyball Rallies to Defeat Hamilton, 3-1
    October 26, 2019
    After dropping the first set, the 19th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team rallied with three-straight wins to defeat Hamilton on Saturday afternoon in its final NESCAC match of the regular season, 3-1. The Cardinals won by scores of 24-26, 25-20, 25-18, 25-22.
  • THREE-PEAT! No. 19 Volleyball Defeats Williams to Claim Little Three Title

    The Wesleyan volleyball team won its third consecutive Little Three title outright as the 19th-ranked Cardinals defeated archrival Williams Friday night in Silloway Gymnasium by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.
  • Hilton Earns Second-Straight NESCAC Player of the Week Honor

    For the second consecutive week, senior Nicole Hilton of the 24th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week for her stellar performance in wins over Trinity (3-0) and No. 14 Juniata (3-2). The weekly award is the third-straight honor for the Cardinals as Phia Bellizzi was named the co-player of the week on October 7th.
  • In Thrilling Elite Eight Rematch, No. 24 Wesleyan Defeats No. 14 Juniata, 3-2

    The rematch of last year’s NCAA Elite Eight matchup between Wesleyan and Juniata featured another five-set thriller, however, this time the 24th-ranked Cardinals came away victorious as they defeated the 14th-ranked Eagles at home by scores of 26-28, 25-23, 26-28, 25-20, 16-14.

    The 24th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team won its eighth-straight match on Thursday night as it cruised to a 3-0 victory over in-state NESCAC rival Trinity by scores of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-13.

    After dropping its first set on Saturday, the 24th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team rallied with three-straight victories to defeat Little Three rival Amherst on the road, handing the Mammoths their first NESCAC loss of the season. The Cardinals won by scores of 24-26, 25-10, 25-17, and 25-17.

    The 24th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory over NESCAC rival Middlebury on Friday night by scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-21.

    The 24th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Keene State in a non-conference match on the road, 3-1. The Cardinals won by scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-18, and 25-17.

    Junior libero Phia Bellizzi of the 25th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team has been named the NESCAC Co-Player of the Week, alongside Christina Nwankpa of Tufts, following a strong performance during a 2-0 stretch for the Cardinals.

    Bella Ahearn totaled 14 kills to help lead the 25th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Bates on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals won by scores of 25-22, 27-25, 21-25, and 25-19. 
  • No. 25 Wesleyan Routs Colby, 3-0
    October 04, 2019
    The 25th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team handled Colby College Friday night on the road, 3-0. The Cardinals cruised with wins of 25-7, 25-22, 25-4 as they hit an incredible .398 as a team with just five errors on 88 attempts.
  • No. 20 Wesleyan Sweeps Stevens and Hunter

    The 20th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team swept its doubleheader on Day 2 action at the River Hawk Invitational Saturday, hosted by Susquehanna, as the Cardinals defeated Stevens and Hunter in three sets. The Cardinals won by scores of 25-23, 25-17, 26-24 over Stevens and later claimed a win over Hunter by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-11. With the wins, Wesleyan improves to 10-2 on the year.
  • Volleyball Loses to Susquehanna, 3-0

    The 20th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team lost to Susquehanna in three sets Friday night in the River Hawk Invitational. The Cardinals lost by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-16 and are now 8-2 on the year. Susquehanna improves to 13-3 following the win.

    Mia Jago recorded eight kills on 10 attempts, without committing an error, as the 20th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Connecticut College Thursday night in Silloway Gymnasium by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-13.

    Five Cardinals recorded double-digit kills but the 15th-ranked Wesleyan volleyball team saw its perfect record come to an end Saturday afternoon as it lost to Tufts in a NESCAC thriller, 3-1. The Jumbos won by scores of 21-25, 27-25, 26-24, and 25-16.
