Mark ‘Frog’ Ogilvie joins the Wesleyan volleyball program in 2019 as an Assistant Coach after graduating from Durham University in June 2019 with a Masters in International/Intercultural Education and a Ph.D. in Sociology and Sport.
Ogilvie, a Detroit native, was a member of the men’s volleyball team at Michigan State University from 2008-2013, contributing to the Spartan roster as either a Libero or a Setter during his time on the team while earning a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics.
Upon graduating from MSU, Ogilvie continued his academic and volleyball careers overseas in England, working hard in graduate school while competing in two leagues: the premier division of BUCS (British University College Sport) and the NVL (National Volleyball League). During Ogilvie’s five-season duration in England, he led his team to three promotions, finishing with his team in the Super League of the NVL.
Ogilvie was an active member of coaching bench personnel for the Durham University women’s team while in England, which saw the women win two BUCS National Championships and two Super League (NVL) National Championships. Since moving back to America, Ogilvie has coached teams at Northeast Volleyball Club, as well as numerous camps for Gold Medal Squared.
