MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams earned 2018 NCAA Division III All-Academic Team accolades and six members earned individual honors, as announced by the USTFCCC on February 14th.
In order to earn All-Academic Team accolades, the squad's GPA must be a minimum of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the fall, and the team needed to compete and compile a team score at the NCAA Regional meet. Wesleyan's women's team maintained a 3.67 team GPA, while the men's team had a 3.39 team GPA through the fall, under the leadership of head coach John Crooke and assistant coach Tom Awad.
The requirements for earning All-Academic Individual honors include maintaining a 3.30 or higher GPA, as well as placing in the top-25 percent at their regional championship meet. On the men's side, juniors Kevin McMorrow and Grant van Inwegen earned individual recognition, while Becky Lopez-Anido, Julia Mitchell, Sara Pinsonault and Emma Trapani earned individual accolades on the women's squad.
