Torrey Martone

Torrey Martone has returned to the Wesleyan staff for his second season in 2025. Previously, he served as the defensive coordinator at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut, where he contributed to the school achieving its highest national ranking of 13th in the country. Before his time at Choate, Martone served as the Head Coach at Cheshire Academy from 2019 to 2022. During his tenure, he helped several players secure collegiate playing opportunities at schools such as Johns Hopkins, Fairfield, Monmouth, Holy Cross, and Wesleyan.

Martone’s initial association with Wesleyan occurred in 2018 when he played a key role in the team winning a national championship as an assistant coach. He commenced his collegiate coaching career as the defensive coordinator at Albertus Magnus College in 2017.

As a collegiate player, Martone began at UMass for two seasons before transferring to the University of Hartford. At Hartford, he was a three-year starter on defense and was part of the 2016 American Championship team. He ranked 4th all-time in caused turnovers and led the American East during the 2015 season. In high school, Martone played lacrosse at Cheshire High School, where he contributed to winning the Class L state championship in 2010. During his time at CHS, he earned 2-time All-American honors and was named a 3-time All-State player on defense.
