The Lead: The No. 20 Wesleyan University men's squash team cruised to a 7-2 win over No. 29 Connecticut College Friday night at home.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals claimed the top six positions, as well as the No. 9 spot.
- In the top of the lineup, Chris Hart '17 swept Matt Lillie by scores of 15-13, 11-7, 11-6 from the No. 1 position, and David Sneed '17 won a 3-0 sweep over Daniel Reisman with scores of 11-7, 11-6, 11-3.
- Zach Roach '17, Grant Lounsbury '17, Yahya Ladiwala '19, Williams Bienstock '20 and Kevin Le '19 all claimed 3-1 wins from their respective spots.
- Roach defeated Michael Rodriguez from the No. 3 position by scores of 11-5, 11-2, 6-11, 11-8.
- Lounsbury won 11-3, 6-11, 11-7, 11-8 over John Dunham from the No. 4 spot.
- In the No. 5 position, Ladiwala claimed wins of 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, 11-9 against Sam Piller, and Bienstock defeated Benjie Osajie 11-2, 6-11, 11-6, 11-4 from the No. 6 spot.
- In the bottom of the lineup, Le earned a 3-1 victory against Louis Feingold from the No. 9 position with scores of 10-12, 11-2, 11-8, 11-5.
UP NEXT:
- The Cardinals have a month-long break before returning to action Wednesday, Jan. 11 when they head to Bowdoin College for a 1 p.m. contest.
- The Camels return to the courts Sunday, Jan. 15 to face Colby beginning at 2 p.m.
