AMHERST, Mass. – The Wesleyan University women's ice hockey team concluded their season against No. 5/4 Amherst College women's ice hockey team, and were defeated by their Little Three rival, 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amherst scored in all three periods.
- Amherst went 3-for-6 on the power play, while Wesleyan finished 0-for-2.
- Corinne Rivard '16 (1-8-1) made 27 saves in between the pipes for the Cardinals.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Alex Toupal opened up the Amherst scoring at 10:04 in the first. The Purple and White took advantage of a Wesleyan penalty, and Toupal was able to fire a shot over the glove of Rivard. Erin Martin and Eileen Harris were given assists on the goal.
- Martin made it a 2-0 contest at the 5:22 mark as she sent a wrist shot over Rivard's glove hand. Toupal and Caroline Bomstein were credited with assists on the play.
- Amherst gained a three-goal cushion with 18.5 seconds remaining in the first periof as Toupal found the puck in a scrum and sent a backhander past Rivard.
- Rivard was stellar for Wesleyan in the second stanza, stopping a Jamie McNamara point blank shot at the 11:35 mark, before making two more impressive saves with 6:47 and 1:31 remaining.
- Sara Culhane gave the Purple and White a 4-0 lead at 9:32, as her shot was able to sneak through the pads of Rivard.
- Jocelyn Hunyadi scored final two goals, both on the power play, for Amherst in the third at 14:31 and 7:12 to play.
- The Purple & White would to secure its second 6-0 victory over the Cardinals.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Wesleyan concludes the 2015-16 season with a 4-17-2 overall record and a 1-13-2 record in NESCAC play.
