NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The 26th-ranked Wesleyan University women's squash team edged 27th-ranked William Smith College, 5-4, in the semifinals of the 2016 CSA National Team Championship Epps Cup (D Division) Saturday night at Yale University.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- The Cardinals claimed wins from the No. 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8 positions.
- Laila Samy '18 remains perfect on the season as she cruised to a 3-0 sweep in the No. 1 position by scores of 11-1, 11-0, 11-1.
- In the No. 3 spot, Bridget Doherty '16 earned another sweep with marks of 11-7, 11-4, 11-3.
- Abigail Smith '17 and Ali Imperiale '19 both won their matches, 3-1, from the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively. Smith won by scores of 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, and Imperiale claimed victories of 11-9, 10-12, 11-6, 11-9.
- In the No. 8 spot, Ale Lampietti '19 grabbed another 3-1 win for the Cardinals as defeated her opponent by marks of 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9.
UP NEXT
- With the win, Wesleyan advances to the finals of the Epps Cup (D Division) and will face No. 25 Dickinson College at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 21.
- William Smith is scheduled to play Connecticut College tomorrow at 2 p.m. as well.
