AMHERST, Mass. – Trailing 2-1 after doubles play, the 11th-ranked Wesleyan University men's tennis team rallied with four wins in singles action to defeat Little Three rival and No. 14 Amherst College Sunday, 5-4.

DOUBLES RESULTS
- Amherst won doubles action, 2-1.
- The Cardinals picked up their lone win in No. 2 doubles as Michael Liu '17 and Steven Chen '18 defeated Ben Fife and Zach Bessette.
SINGLES RESULTS
- Wesleyan went 4-2 in singles play with wins from No. 1-4 singles.
- Liu defeated Bessette in the No. 1 spot by scores of 6-3, 7-5.
- Chen, Tiago Eusebio '18 and Joachim Samson '19 all claimed thrilling three set matches.
- Chen edged Michael Solimano in No. 2 singles with wins of 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.
- In the No. 3 spot, Eusebio fell early to Andrew Yaraghi, 6-4, but responded with wins of 6-3 and 6-1 to claim the win.
- Samson also battled back from an early deficit as he dropped the first set 6-1 to Fife. However, the freshman claimed back-to-back wins of 6-1.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Sunday's win was Wesleyan's first against its Little Three rival since the 2002-03 season, and only second dating back to 1977-78.
