CLINTON, N.Y.- The Wesleyan University baseball team took on NESCAC rival Hamilton College in a twinbill on Saturday afternoon at Royce Field. The Continentals came out with a 5-2 victory in game one, and the Cardinals were able to grab a 6-4 win in game two in 10 innings.

GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hamilton got on the board in the bottom of the first as Kris Collins doubled home Jordan Northrup to give them a 1-0 lead.
- The Cardinals took in lead in the top of the second on as Will O'Sullivan '17 and Andrew Keith '19 both notched RBIs in the inning.
- Dean Rosenberg would take Wesleyan starter Peter Rantz '16 deep in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 2 all.
- David Rose would account for the last two Continental runs, as he had an RBI double in the fourth, and a 2-run homerun in the sixth.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Rantz would go six for the Cardinals allowing 6 hits, five runs (all earned), while striking out two and walking two.
- Along with O'Sullivan, Marco Baratta '16, Nick Miceli '17, Eric Jones '16 and Ellis Schaefer '17 registered hits.
- Hamilton's starter, Cole Dreyfuss went seven innings allowing five hits and two runs. He struck out six and walked two.
- Rose went 2-3 on the day with 3 RBIs.
GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Danny Rose '19 would work a walk in the top of the fourth to force in Matt Jeye '18 and give the Cardinals a 1-0 advantage. Later in the inning, Schaefer would hit a sacrifice fly to right, which scored Baratta to give Wesleyan the 2-0 lead.
- Hamilton took the lead in the bottom of the fifth as Ryan Wolfsberg took the Miceli pitch over the wall in left for a 3-run homerun.
- The Cardinals would come back to tie the game in the top of the seventh as Jeye singled to bring home Jones with the tying run.
- The Continentals would regain the lead in the bottom of the inning on a Cooper Halpern single.
- Jordan Farber '16 would tie the game yet again in the top of the ninth as his single scored Keith from third.
- Jones would lift a 2-run homerun to left field to give the Cardinals the 6-4 lead.
- Ryan Earle '19, who replaced Miceli, would retire the side in order in the bottom of the inning to seal the victory for Wesleyan.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Miceli pitched eight innings allowing four runs (all earned) on seven hits. He struck out five and walked two.
- Earle earned his first victory on the year as he pitched two innings in relief allowing one walk while striking out one.
- Guy Davidson '16 led the Cardinals with three hits in the game while Jeye and Baratta each had two hit games.
- Kenny Collins went 2-3 for Hamilton, while Northrup also registered a two hit game, going 2-4 on the day.
