The Lead: The No. 26 Wesleyan University men's squash team dropped both of its matches Saturday at the Little Three Championships as the Cardinals were edged by No. 25 Amherst College, 5-4, and lost to No. 17 Williams College, 8-1.
AMHERST / WESLEYAN HIGHLIGHTS:
- Wesleyan picked up its four wins from the top four spots in the lineup.
- In the No. 1 position, Chris Hart '17 recovered from a 1-0 (11-7) deficit to rally three straight wins of 12-10, 11-9, 11-5.
- David Sneed '17 earned a thrilling 3-2 win in the No. 2 spot over Michael Groot by scores of 11-9, 9-11, 3-11, 11-9, 11-6.
- Seniors Zach Roach and Alex Kamisher each earned 3-1 victories from the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively. Roach won by scores of 11-13, 11-6, 11-7, 11-9, and Kamisher won by marks of 11-8, 5-11, 11-6, 13-11.
WILLIAMS / WESLEYAN HIGHLIGHTS:
- Kamisher picked up the lone win for the Cardinals against Williams. The senior won the No. 4 position by a 3-2 thriller with scores of 11-9, 4-11, 8-11, 11-6, 14-12.
UP NEXT:
- The Cardinals return to Amherst, Mass. next weekend for the three-day NESCAC Championships beginning Friday, Feb. 3 and ending Sunday, Feb. 5.
