The Lead: The sixth-ranked Wesleyan University women's tennis team cruised to a commanding 8-1 win over in-state NESCAC rival Trinity College Wednesday night inside the Bacon Field House.
DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals claimed 2-of-3 doubles matches.
- In the No. 2 spot, Helen Klass-Warch '18 and Nicole McCann '18 swept Jillian Winer and Jane Weber, while the No. 3 doubles team of Dasha Dubinsky '18 and Julia Kim '20 defeated Ania Aliev and Sara Curtis, 8-3.
SINGLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Yu, who ranks No. 15 in the country in singles play, cruised to wins of 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 spot over Vanja Babunski.
- Aashli Budhiraja '18 won No. 2 singles by scores of 6-0, 6-3, and Klass-Warch swept Krista Jiranek in the No. 3 position.
- McCann earned wins of 6-4, 6-1 over Winer in No. 4 singles.
- At the bottom of the lineup, Dubinsky and Kim cruised to wins of 8-1 and 8-0 in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively.

- The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, April 15 and will head to Medford, Mass. to face Tufts. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
