The Lead: The sixth-ranked Wesleyan University women's tennis team cruised past Hamilton College Sunday with a commanding 9-0 sweep indoors in its first NESCAC match of the 2016-17 season.
DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS:
- In doubles play, Eudice Chong '18 and Victoria Yu '19 earned an 8-1 win in the No. 1 spot, and Helen Klass-Warch '18 and Nicole McCann '18 claimed an 8-1 victory in the No. 2 position.
- Aashli Budhiraja '18 and Julia Kim '20 swept No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
SINGLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- At the top of the lineup, Yu picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles, Budhiraja cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory in No. 2 singles, and Klass-Warch claimed a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot.
- Dasha Dubinsky '18 took the No. 4 position with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win.
- At the bottom of the lineup, Kim won 8-0 in the No. 5 spot and Ella Lindholm-Uzzi '17 claimed No. 6 singles, 8-2.
UP NEXT:
- Wesleyan is back in action Saturday, April 8 and will host MIT in a non-conference match beginning at 3 p.m.
