PITTSFIELD, Mass. – For the second year in a row, Wesleyan University women's crew claimed the Little Three title as the Cardinals defeated rivals Amherst and Williams in the Varsity 8 today on Lake Ononta.
Wesleyan is currently ranked No. 2 in the USRowing/CRCA Coaches' Polls while the Ephs sit at No. 3 in Division III.
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals edged the Ephs in the Varsity 8 by one second, as Wesleyan's boat crossed the finish line in 6:53.84 and Williams crossed in 6:54.84. The Mammoths finished 44 seconds after Wesleyan as their boat recorded a mark of 7:38.09.
- Wesleyan's second Varsity 8 boat clocked a time of 7:21.98 to finish behind Williams (7:11.11), while Amherst crossed the finish line in 8:00.85.
- The Cardinals also took second to Williams in the third Varsity 8 race, posting a time of 7:39.90 to the Ephs' mark of 7:33.49.
