About

HOF display

Wesleyan’s celebrated athletic history includes world class and national caliber athletes, Olympic medalists, NCAA champions, regional titleholders and teams that have won New England titles and placed in national competition. It includes accomplished graduates and coaches who have been innovators and contributors to the evolution of a sport. At the heart of Wesleyan athletics are the students—training, competing, and pursuing excellence as Wesleyan scholar-athletes.

Recognizing members of the Wesleyan community for outstanding achievement on the ‘playing surface’ or for service, dedication, and commitment to either athletics, a specific sport and/or related program, Wesleyan’s Athletics Hall of Fame features exciting stories of accomplishment, character, perseverance, courage, loyalty, teamwork, and generosity—a rich and proud tradition that will inspire current and future scholar-athletes.

Founded in 2006 through the collaborative work of the Athletics Advisory Council (AAC), the Athletic Department and the Office of University Relations, the HOF ceremony is held bi-annually with recipient plaques on display in the lobby of the Belichick Plaza entrance of Freeman Athletic Center.
