Murphy Earns Second-Straight All-American Accolade in the 100 Backstroke With Third-Place Finish

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wesleyan's Caroline Murphy of the women's swimming and diving team placed third in the 100-yard backstroke to earn All-American honors for the second time. Her time of 55.48 placed her one spot higher than last season when she won her first All-American accolade.

Earlier in the day, O'Halloran competed in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 59.07. The 800-yard freestyle relay (Maela Whitcomb, O'Halloran, Grace Middleton and Sophia Antonio) also competed, finishing with a time of 7:46.81.  

Saturday is the final day of competition, as the Murphy will compete in the 100-yard freestyle, O'Halloran will race in the 200-yard backstroke and the 400-yard freestyle relay (Murphy, O'Halloran, Antonio and Middleton) will compete.
