Lilienthal & Roji Advance to an NCAA Semifinal Doubles Match With Quarterfinal Victory

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Wesleyan men's tennis tandem of Noah Lilienthal and Adrian Roji topped Skidmore's Noah Williamson and JT Wynne in an NCAA Quarterfinal matchup on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Cardinal tandem advances to the NCAA Semifinal Doubles match and will face the winners of WashU/Mary Washington at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Wesleyan doubles team jumped out to a 2-0 early lead, but later Skidmore cut the deficit to one (3-2). Lilienthal and Roji responded, taking a 5-2 lead and despite a comeback attempt by the Thoroughbreds, the Cardinals hung on for the 6-4 victory. In the second set, Wesleyan led by two games for the majority of the match. Up 5-3, the Skidmore tandem was victorious in the ninth game to cut into the Wesleyan lead to 5-4, but the Cardinals won the final game to pick up the 6-4 triumph.
