WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Wesleyan wrestling team returned to action for the first time in 2020 as it competed at the two-day Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College. The Cardinals finished 15th overall in the 16-team field with 67 points.
TCNJ won the tournament with 200 points followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire (150) and Castleton (133). Rounding out the top-five were Lycoming (131) and Washington & Lee (123).
TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Wesleyan was led at the tournament by Marco Gaita who posted a 4-1 record at 174. Gaita also recorded a pin in his win against Wilkes.
- At 125, Amir Daouk posted a 3-1 mark as he excelled over the weekend. He also moved up to 133 in one match but was defeated by decision.
- Tristan Stetson went 3-2 overall while posting a 2-2 record at 133 and going 1-0 at 141.
